    JOHN J. McCARTHY

    Associated with the firm since 1980, John McCarthy represents plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of civil litigation matters, including workers' compensation, medical malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, contract claims, and business and corporate issues. He recently served as lead defense investigative, trial and appellate counsel in a large industrial explosion case. He taught trial methods for five years at Western New England College School of Law, and has conducted numerous legal training seminars. He is the former chairman of the Chicopee Development Corporation, served as trustee of Elms College and has served multiple terms on the City of Chicopee Board of Zoning Appeals. He is the vice president of the Chicopee Bar Association and is a member of the Supreme Judicial Court's standing advisory committee on the rules of civil procedure. He also sits on the Hampden County Bar Association arbitration and mediation panel. John has coached youth and high school sports since 1970, most recently as assistant varsity boys basketball coach at Holyoke Catholic High School.
