Tufts University, magna cum laude, 1980; Cornell University Law School, cum laude, International Law Journal Note and Comment Editor, 1983; Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, M.P.A., 1985. Garth Janes joined the firm in 1988. His corporate law practice includes financing and securities work, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, counsel to entrepreneurial companies, and import-export counsel. He is the chairman of the Board of Tribunes of WGBY-TV, Springfield’s public television station, and a member of the Board of Directors of the WGBH Educational Foundation in Boston. He is the past Chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Springfield Enterprise Center at Springfield Technical Community College, the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telitcom Development Corporation, and the past Chairman of the Richard Salter Storrs Library in Longmeadow, where he now lives with his wife and two children.
